Wondering how to manage your kids when you go into labor? Sage Birth & Wellness Collective can provide you with a sibling doula who can offer emotional support for your older child(ren). Your sibling doula will meet with your family prior to the birth (number of visits is specific to each family) and get to know your child and his needs. This ensures a seamless transition on your birthing day with an adult who has already met, and played with your child. If there are pick up requirements (from day care or school) or overnight requirements, the sibling doula is capable to take over in a way that makes both parents and kiddos comfortable. Your sibling support doula will be on call for you 24/7 in your due date range (from 38-42 weeks). When you are in labor, the doula can come to your home or meet you at the hospital to offer emotional support for your older child. If pick up is required, these arrangements will be made in the prenatal visit.
During and after the birth, your sibling doula can answer any questions as they arise, provide distractions when your child needs to take a break, and offer immediate sibling integration support once baby is born. After you are home with your new baby, the doula can come for a postpartum sibling integration check-in visit. To speak with a sibling doula, contact Amy or Pooka
