Yoga during pregnancy helps promote a mama’s feelings of health and well being. Doing yoga regularly helps mamas to develop stamina and strength, assists with balance. Yoga poses reduce and relieve tension of lower back, hips, chest, upper back, neck and shoulders and calms the nervous system. Yoga prepares mamas bodies and minds for labor, provides them connection with their baby (and partner), increases circulation, and provides a framework for breathing practice. Finally, it helps develop a community/sisterhood with other mama’s in class. This time that you give yourself to practice yoga is the beginning of self-care as a parent. It is time to nurture yourself, so you can better care for others.
