Sage Birth & Wellness Collective is pleased to offer postpartum doula care. We know this time to be amazing and many parents report extremes of emotion–deep love, fulfillment and contentment, combined with feelings of fear, frustration and being overwhelmed. A time where families experience the ups and downs of parenthood, the creation of the family unit, and working through the emotions which surface when bringing a new baby home.
Our Postpartum doulas serve Boulder, Longmont, Denver, and the front range
At Sage Birth & Wellness Collective, it’s our deepest desire to bring the family’s postpartum experience to its fullest potential through assisting, supporting, and guiding the family through the laying in period (40 days postpartum) and beyond with complete birth support services.
Our collective of birth doulas and postpartum doulas serve mamas and their families throughout Boulder County and the front range including Erie, Broomfield, Lafayette, Lyons, Denver, Niwot, & Loveland.
Our Postpartum Care Philosophy
Many of us at Sage have been training with Rachelle Garcia Salinga and Innate Traditions, “Innate Postpartum Care”. Our system of care is modeled after Rachelle’s offerings, with the understanding that when Mothers are healthy and well, so too are their families. When families are healthy and well, so too then is the community. And when communities are healthy and well, so too then is Mother Earth. Traditional medicinal knowledge and practices can create social healing—AND that this knowledge is stored within the memory of the blood that courses through our veins. www.InnateTraditions.com
Your Postpartum Doula is like a sherpa guiding you up the mountain of parenthood
While having a baby is one of the most beautiful experiences in the world, the transition into parenthood is financially, physically, and spiritually challenging. Your postpartum doula is here to guide you through this transition to make it as healthy as possible.
Count on us to:
Help you set up your home and baby’s space in a way that will promote ease, efficiency, rest and a thriving family unit.
Provide assistance with attachment parenting and baby wearing as well as providing evidenced based information on feeding, sleeping, and attachment.
Help mamas and partners get periodic rests, whether it be during the day while their baby sleeps, or by providing overnight doula care to families to help develop healthy, intentional sleep cycles and maximize rest that parents get while simultaneously providing calm, experienced infant care.
Meet you and your baby wherever you may be on that day, emotionally and physically, and based on this, create a plan of care with spontaneity, love and acceptance.
Honor and respect your intuition, innate knowledge and experiences as a mother and as parents.
Bring offerings to bring warmth back to the body with nurturing closing ceremonies, yoni steams, sitz baths, warming foods, and other ayurvedic offerings which help bring balance back to a mama’s body and bring her in tune with her new baby in a gentle and natural way.
Guide you with ayurvedic and lactogenic nutrition and cooking designed to help moms and babies heal from birth, feel well, and thrive in the “lying-in period”.
Assist you and your partner (and sibling) adjustment to new baby, home routines, and helping everyone to feel more confident in their individual family roles.
Offer lactation assistance, whether it be assisting with latch, information on supply, assistance with trouble shooting (positioning for success, nipple guards, pumping, feeding on demand, nutrition and sleep) and effects on the mom/baby’s unique biostasis. If bottle feeding, will provide assistance with pumping, formula choice, and nipple/bottle choices.
Provide referrals for you, your baby or other family members to outside care when needed for maximal wellness and a thriving family unit.
