Coy Halper is a full-spectrum doula offering comprehensive care throughout all stages of becoming a parent.
Coy has been a yoga instructor since 2016 and has continuously held space for pregnant women in their yoga practices. It was through teaching prenatal yoga that Coy was compelled to complete her first birth doula training with DONA International in 2020. After having the privilege to support families through their childbirth journeys it was her turn to enter into her own maternity period, as she became a mother to her daughter Talia in 2023. Moving through the magic and mystery of her own postpartum experience inspired Coy to complete her second doula training, a year-long mentorship program with Doula Thrive. She now celebrates certification as both a birth and postpartum doula, being able to provide extensive care to both baby and mother through the maternity journey.
Her approach when working includes blending her yogic knowledge, sacred practices, and the formal education from the multiple trainings undertaken, along with her personal experience in motherhood, to fully support families in their parenthood journey. Coy invites families to explore their own sacred rituals and ancestral lineages to help unveil what may arise for them in the period of expansion of their family system. Coy also incorporates practical information to help demystify what newborns need, and has a strong focus on education so parents can know what to expect (and what not to expect!) from the birth and the post-partum periods.
Coy has spent time providing spaceholding and complementary care to those in various states of consciousness, including supporting individuals through spiritual emergences as well as for those moving through other major life portals. She brings this understanding of spirit and maintaining a grounded state of being to all the work she does, and has been called upon by her community many times to be the anchor as they moved through intense and turbulent times.
Coy has an intense passion for nurturing others via food, spending hours in the kitchen, crafting various broths and soups, homemade sourdough, varieties of pickled and fermented items, seasonal salads, and hearty stews, all of which can be offered as part of a postpartum package. She also weaves in her yogic knowledge of ayurveda and balancing one’s doshas to compliment her nutritional offerings.
Coy’s philosophy in this work is to treat each person – mother, father, newborn, and extended family system – with endless love and compassion, blending the scientific and the sacred, and offering her deep presence as they bring life into the world.
Coy is available for birth support, postpartum care, private yoga and reiki healing sessions.
