Jill is a mama of four whose children have inspired her life working with babies and parents. After her own very different birth experiences she realized the importance of individualized care for families and how lacking it can be in our culture. Helping families find their path in the often hard to navigate world of childbirth and parenthood is her passion and over the years it has taken many forms. From baby-wearing educator to student midwife she has taken a variety of roles and continues to always seek new knowledge and experience to pass on to her clients.
Jill believes that one of the most important pieces for women and their families is to be prepared to make informed decisions. Therefore, education on the wide array of choices and possible scenarios is a big part of her work. She provides parents with evidence based information from all sides of the story to help each unique client find their own path. As a birth and postpartum doula she has worked with a wide range of families with many different choices such as VBAC’s, natural birth, medicated birth, breastfeeding, bottle feeding, and all kinds of hospital and home births. Jill believes that the seemly simple components of knowledge, preparation, and lots of loving support can come together to create an empowering birth and parenting experience.
When she’s not reading midwifery texts or attending birth workshops, Jill spends her time cooking, creating, and spending time outside with her family.
